Craft Resources for one Child's Bereavement Counselling Session
$ 25.00

The NCCG's clinical specialists use a range of clinical activities to engage children in their bereavement counselling session - creating a space of enjoyment and self-expression, where children feel able to share deep feelings and worries about their grief and family. The counsellor will choose an activity based on each child's interests, personality, and what may help them express themselves. Art and craft projects, games, role-playing, sports, gardening, and cooking are all popular.

As a craft project, for example, children may create a memory journal to fill with memories of their loved one who has died. A memory jar can be filled with patterns of specially coloured sand, representing memories or feelings - the child can then carry the memory jar in their pocket and be comforted by it when their feelings of sadness or worry might feel too big or out of control.

This gift provides the clinical resources needed for one child's 2-hour counselling session.
