
Volunteer - Jeans for Genes Day 2026- Sydney
A fantastic opportunity to meet new people and have some fun, while giving back to the community by helping to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Medical Research Institute to support research into children’s genetic diseases.
What are Jeans for Genes Day?
1 in 20 kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect. That’s 1 kid in every classroom. Jeans for Genes Day will be on Thursday 6th August 2026. This year, we will have hundreds of wonderful volunteers join us to hit the streets, shopping centers, and train stations across the Greater Sydney Region to help raise vital funds for research that will improve lives by finding cures for children’s genetic diseases. Why not join them to make a difference in children’s lives?
How can I make a difference?
Join the team as a volunteer or Location Leader selling Jeans for Genes Day merchandise, collecting donations, and raising awareness in the community. Each volunteer shift is between 2 - 4 hours long (early morning, morning, or afternoon) in a location of your choice.
Where do we need volunteers?
- Martin Place
- Central Train Station
- Parramatta Train Station
- Barrack St -Sydney CBD
- Town Hall Train Station
- Wynyard Train Station
What we’re looking for:
* Strong communicator and happy interacting with the public
* Comfortable selling merchandise, working an EFTPOS machine, and handling cash.
* Enthusiastic and willing to participate.
* Friendly nature and enjoy working in a team.
